New York City is vulnerable to climate change. Resilitoken is a fictional currency design themed on climate change adaptation featuring three common five species in NYC—the London Plane tree, Switchgrass, Common Milkweed, Creeping Jenny, and Northern Red Oak—that are climate resilient as the front image of the currency. Through researching the individual plants and the benefits they bring to the urban environment, this project deepens my understanding of the effort New York City invested in response to climate change and allows me to appreciate the ecosystem service.
